Hello everyone and welcome to our first introductory blog post!
I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that has assisted me in taking a simple side project over the past 5 years and expanding it beyond my expectations. Being able to sit here today knowing that I can dedicate each day to my passion is something I thought was only a whisp of a dream.
I have always enjoyed crafting and creating, and one night around Christmas time, 5 years ago, my husband and I were sitting around the Christmas tree, listening to Christmas music and drinking the most amazing cup of coffee we had ever tasted. At that moment, we knew that this was our next adventure together. At the time, I was working full time and doing craft fairs on the side making simple decorated mug toppers and coffee mugs. We both thought that it would be amazing to expand our line of crafts to actual coffee to fill those coffee mugs.
We started small and sold sample packs of our coffee at local craft fairs and online. It exceeded our expectations, and we knew we wanted to grow bigger, and it started to slowly become less of a simple side project and more of a full-time passion. It wasn’t until this year that we decided to take that passion and twist it into our second passion which is the love of our furry companions.
I had always joked with my husband that one day I would become just a plain simple dog mom and spend my days enriching their lives while enriching ours, and here are. That is where we came up with the name for Dog Mom Coffee Co.
Having such passion for the breed, I would often donate our coffee and some of our handmade crafts to dachshund rescue auctions. These rescues are so important for dachshunds as they are for any other breed. They help these beautiful creatures get the medical attention that they need that would not be possible without the community and donations. Dachshunds are known to have Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD) which causes extreme back pain, and possible paralysis of their limbs. Although some mild cases can be solved with crate rest, but more times than not surgery may be required. That alone can be thousands of dollars alone in just medical fees.
That is why we are dedicated to ensuring we continue our efforts to help in any way possible. In the future, we will be launching a merchandise page that will benefit a rescue that is near and dear to me that I have donated to. I want to be able to help them achieve their goals as much as possible.
Our goal is to continue providing enriching content about our coffee and our companions. So once again, thank you for stopping by, thank you for supporting and we look forward to more Bark-tastic blogging together.
